George never did care for the rain.
Fred, on the other hand, loved grey stormy days, and was always trying to get his twin to go outside and let the cool droplets wash over their skin. When they were kids, they would often do just that, chasing each other and not caring if they got all wet and muddy.
However, as they got older, George would balk at the idea; so Fred would indulge him by staying indoors. They would often find themselves snuggling in front of their bedroom window, watching the patterns the water would make as it hit the glass in front of them.
This was one of those days.
Fred was gazing out the window, his fingertips lazily tracing the outline of the wet streaks on the other side of the glass as George came up behind him, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Want to go outside, love?" he asked, burying his nose in Fred's hair.
Fred blinked, and moved so he could look at his brother.
"We don't have to. Besides, I thought you hated the rain anyway," he replied, a bit surprised.
"A bloke can change his mind, can't he?"
Fred shook his head. "True. But really, it's fine."
George moved to Fred's side, putting an arm around his shoulder.
"I just want to have what we almost lost," he sighed, thinking back to how Fred was nearly taken from him.
Nodding, Fred understood immediately. "You know, it's been way too long. Let's go."
Grinning, George took Fred's hand and led him outside. The moment Fred felt the rain on him, he smiled happily, just like he did when he was small.
George watched Fred's face and couldn't help but drag him into the alley behind the shop so they could be alone.
'Perhaps the rain's not so bad after all', George thought as they began kissing, wondering why it took him so long to realise that fact.
