Gazing out the back door on this indian summer afternoon, she watched her husband tending to their garden, his chest and arms toned from years of playing Quidditch back in school. He had taken his shirt off, and the freckles on his back seemed to dance across his skin in the sunlight.
Her heart filled with so much emotion at that moment, and her eyes misted up as she thought about how blind and stupid she had been all through school and during the war. How there was a boy at Hogwarts who would have shown her the true meaning of life and laughter, and most importantly, of love. But she was unable to take the blinders of ignorance off back then.
But after the war, she had. And she now had everything she ever desired, even if it were much different than she'd ever imagined.
She was brought out of her reverie by the sight of her husband approaching her.
"Are you all right, Princess?" George asked, wrapping his arms around her shoulders.
Her smile widened as she looked up and into his eyes. "Yes, I am," she replied before standing on the tips of her toes to kiss him softly, holding him close.
Even though it had taken her several years, Pansy had finally found the true meaning of love. It was right here, in her arms.
