Everything was starting to click into place. Snippets he'd heard about something being signed into law, protests, riots, and now something about smoke and the Joker Underground. Something was going down, and it was big and bad.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and began scrolling through newsfeeds, blogs, anything that might give him a clue as to what was going on out there.
He made sure to keep Maxxie in sight, even if he was just glancing out of the corner of his eye, because he didn't want to lose her if (or possibly when) the shit hit the fan.
