Two vampires. That left one for Buffy and a demon.
As one of the vampires' swords swung downward at an otherwise completely unarmed girl, despite lacking much in the way of formal training, she caught the blade in clapped hands. Her leg reached up and over her shoulder to kick the vampire in the head, weakening his resolve and freeing up his sword for her own use. He was beheaded and turned to ash shortly afterward.
Buffy didn't know how thankful she should be that none of the vampires had much in the way of formal martial arts training themselves. Her style was flashy but not entirely practical.
"Another caped crusader? Can you even see anything in that mask?" Buffy wasn't sure whether to be thankful or annoyed. The costumed vigilantes seemed so impractical to her. At least he appeared to be holding his own though it wasn't something the slayer wanted to entirely leave to chance.
She looked behind her for the pedestrian who appeared to be long gone. Perhaps one of the vampires had seen Jean-Paul's wardrobe change. Buffy didn't.
"Fire, beheading, wood stake to the heart," she shouted. How to kill a vampire in a nutshell.
But between the vampires, the missing pedestrian, and the newest weirdo in a mask (at least he didn't appear to have any silly bug or animal theme), the slayer was once again hefted up by the demon by her own inattention and thrown into manger once again. At least she knew, having been thrown around a few times in her career, how to land properly and not on her newly acquired sword.
