"I'm not trying to change anything. Just settle. I promise to help you, even if you don't buy a cup of tea or pay for the damages to the door, if only to get you out of my shop."
Her smile grew ever so slightly. Xanadu knew the interior of her own shop well enough that she left the walking cane neglected by the bar stool she'd been sitting on. Without motioning, but expecting him to follow, she made her way to the loft where she climbed a small ladder to reach her table and her cards.
"So, stranger, why do you think you keep ending up at my door?"
