Spock raised his glance up from his tricorder at the approaching figure when he was addressed with one of those very human perfunctory queries. He quirked a brow. This was mostly done out of interest in the other man's handheld device. In his mind, Spock was already trying to determine its function and electromagnetic properties. It made a peculiar high-pitched sound (which Spock had ignored until he saw the device as some sort of City background noise) that seemed much louder to his sensitive Vulcan hearing than it actually was.
"It is highly improbable that I would be able to calculate the exact distance from The City to my home as there are no documented star systems of this area that I am aware of. However, I would venture to presume that I am farther from home than I have been in the past. But that is only considering that this place actually is a place and not an alternate dimension of the mind. In which case I may still be at home, unconscious, and dreaming of a place far from home."
The long-winded Vulcan manner of saying, Yes, I am a long way from home.
He turned off the tricorder in respect of the other man. Unlike his captain or the ever-presumptuous doctor, he would never scan another humanoid lifeform without its permission or unless the circumstances surrounding it were life threatening. Or unless his captain ordered him to. The man appeared human, but from experience Spock knew that appearances were often deceiving.
