The noise Roy heard came from down another hallway, and sounded a little like someone getting clubbed over the head with a giant novelty mallet.
"I don't hear it," whispered Gary. "And I can't see a thing in here."
"Turn on your night vision," suggested Roy. He flicked a little switch on Gary's mask, and the eyes turned green.
"Woah, no way," exclaimed Gary. "It's like Ghost Hunters! Too cool! Hey, take off your mask. I wanna look at your eyes with these."
Roy flicked the switch on his own mask. "Focus, dickweed. We're after the skull. And we're probably not alone in here."
"Oh my god..." gaped Gary.
"Exactly. So we gotta be quieter than ten ninjas, grab the goods, and get out."
"No, up there," Gary pointed to the object of his amazement. "I totally just saw a wicked hot chick with cat ears crawling around up there. She saw me, and then disappeared behind the balcony."
"Shh," hushed Roy. "If there's someone following us, don't let on that you know. Just be ready if she tries to surprise us." Then, in a conversational tone, "Come on, Judy. We gotta get that skull before someone realizes we're here."
"Sure thing, Punch."
Gary led them to the room where he had seen the skull, but was surprised to discover someone else standing there - the jester girl they'd seen making out with Batman.
