Guy smirked slightly as Hood slithered off through the crowd. He should have known his enemy would be too cowardly to make a move with so many people around. As far as Guy was concerned, he won this round. Though he had no idea what Hood thought he had done to Marian. Last time Gisborne had seen her, she was running off with the outlaw.
He sheathed his sword and turned his attention back to the beautiful woman with him. She had reacted well to the altercation. She got his attention without distracting him, tried to stop the fight without interfering. She was a good woman.
“Punch and steak tartare,” he repeated, smiling at Jeannie. “A small compensation for making you witness such an ugly scene. I apologize for that, by the way. Let’s try to forget about it and enjoy the party.”
He would enjoy the party, but he would find Robin Hood again.
