He'd expected a giant hammer swinging at his head. He'd expected a pop gun going off in his face. He'd also expected a swift kick in the direction of his temple.
He was ready for all of those things.
He wasn't at all ready for the big bear hug that she threw at him. Her arms wrapped around him. That smile on her face. A real, honest and genuine smile. Not the crazed psychotic smile that she'd learned from the Joker.
"Harley?" There was no way in the world that he could have hidden his confusion. At this point, he didn't even want to.
He was wondering if she came from some parallel universe where they got along. Perhaps even worked together. Stranger things had happened. There was a girl from another universe he was the father of, after all.
Bruce had no idea what to do.
"How long have you been here?" It was the only thing he could think to ask. There had been Harleys here in the past. Not one of them had reacted like this to him. It was strange. Unnerving. So much so that he couldn't even bring himself to push her off. He should have, he knew that. But she was hugging him.
