Springing to her feet, the girl snatched up her bag from where it had fallen just a few feet away from her, wincing as the ground beneath her gave another shake at the monster's steps. The green dragon-like creature seemed to be making its way towards them and she could hear as people around them screamed and several jumped from their cars and decided to try and make it on foot.
Honestly! What was the deal? First a serial killer and now Godzilla? Why did this City seem to hate them so much?
As she threw her bag around her shoulders again, Nancy caught sight of the sunglasses that had skittered across the ground when she'd jerked the man downward. Grabbing them up, she stuffed them into her bag and was then bounding through the open driver's side door and flinging her body into the passenger's seat alongside.
"Hurry, hurry, hurry," she whispered under her breath as she reached back to pull her seat belt down across her and locking it securely into place. Large, dark eyes widened as she watched the beast stomping its way forward through the windowshield, its arms flailing wildly with an irritable temperament. "He's coming!"
