The voice came from a girl that was currently stumbling her way in the man's direction, wide eyes looking over her shoulder with fear as the monstrous creature stomped his way heavily in their direction. She clapped her hands over her ears as a high-pitched screech of a roar echoed its way off of the City's towering buildings. The ground quaked underneath her feet as she ran, clutching tightly at a sling-bag that she had tossed across her shoulder.
"Mind giving me a lift?" she requested, the words more suited to a simple hitchhiker rather than someone that was potentially running for her life. She was breathing heavily as she approached him, having run the past four blocks in a desperate attempt to get away from the monster that had just attacked near the club where she worked. "We've gotta get out of h--."
There was another loud screech and the blond turned her head just in time to see the monster taking out a building with a swipe of its massive claws. She gasped and threw herself forward, grabbing the man and jerking him downward just in time to avoid a piece of cement debris that hurtled itself in their direction, narrowly avoiding contact with where they'd just stood.
