The docks? Of course, it made perfect sense. Robin Hood had rendered him unconscious, kidnapped him, bringing him here and now he was going to try to go running off, probably to King Richard, before Guy had a chance to catch him. That fool had always been a coward.
Unfortunately, he had always been a lucky coward. Hood had most likely planned this escape in detail, making certain that Guy would be too late to stop their leaving. The boat would most liking be weighing anchor as soon as Guy arrived. The knight sneered again at the thought if Hood and his men standing on the deck of their boat, laughing, as they pulled away from the dock, leaving Guy alone in this very strange “City”.
He decided he was not going to give Hood the chance to laugh at him yet again. Especially since there was a chance Marian was still with him. No. If Hood wanted Guy to watch from the docks as they left him behind, then the docks were the last place Guy would be.
“I changed my mind,” he announced to Jack. “There is no need to find Hood. Instead, I need food, drink and a place to stay. I want to be refreshed and rested when they come back for me.” Guy of Gisborne managed to give Jack a small smile. People sometimes responded better to a smile.
