The smile came to him unbidden at Arial's declaration. He didn't smile much, but Arial brought it out of him.
"She said yes," he murmured, in case it wasn't clear. He wondered what her friend would think of him. There was little to go on, he knew; they'd not met before. "The ceremony is at 2, though..."
He paused, then looked toward the chapel. "If this is all of us, the only question is if the pastor has arrived. If he has, there's no need to wait. Excuse me."
A few minutes later, James returned. "They're ready for us."
It was a little strange. No one was there to walk Arial down the aisle, and maybe she didn't care too much about that. He didn't know. He should have talked with her before this. His flesh hand rubbed the back of his neck.
"I'll go in first," he said, explaining carefully. "If you'd like, and if he wouldn't mind, Eric can walk you in - or if you would prefer, he can come with me, and we'll both be waiting at the front of the chapel with the pastor. Either way, it's up to you, Arial."
