"Oh. He does." Maleficent smiled. Diaval squawked his assent to that statement. Perhaps they'd show the girl, if she persisted along the lines of birds not talking. Or even if she kept insisting on the realities of magic. Diaval's transformation would encompass all of that.
The fairy queen nodded, agreeing. "So much has ceased to make sense since I was taken from my home. I thought I had adjusted well, and then we were all brought here. This is a good number of levels above what I could have even expected."
Magic is kids stuff. Maleficent shook her head at that idea. Silly, silly girl.
"Life is many things without this Mister J." Her eyes narrowed. "You do not need a man, or love, to be a whole person. You are clearly a strong willed individual. Do not base your existence on somebody who isn't there."
This came from her own place of loathing. Of what had happened to her when she'd thought she'd found love. From Betrayal with a capital B. Her features darkened with her words, and it took Maleficent a moment to reel it back.
"I have no destination, I am merely exploring. Trying to get to know this new place in which I live." She gestured to Diaval. "He is keeping an eye from above, guiding me to new things he thinks I might wish to see."
