The display Maleficent witnessed informed her that the female she gazed upon currently was more child than woman. Not a bad thing, necessarily, just information that was good to know when dealing with a person. One had to be aware of how they were speaking to another, and not do anything to insult them. Though, she often guided herself toward purposeful insults if she'd been harmed or... sometimes because she felt like it.
"On the contrary, you appear to be the one who is lost." Maleficent motioned to Diaval to join her, and the bird landed upon her shoulder. "You don't believe in magic. You don't believe in fairy tales."
As a fairy herself, Maleficent was in a very strong position to counter that. She might not have believed much in the idea of true love or anything like that, but she knew that there were stories that were true. Most of the time, by far more twisted, but true.
"Although, I am quite new to this particular ...." her hand waved at the world around them. "Set of elements."
