"Mhm," was what he managed. It was all he could give to her just then. All that really mattered to him had vanished, and not for the first time in his life but that never truly made it any easier. Losing Laura had been bad, Giselle was worse. He would pull through, he always did. But for now, until then, he would be this way.
Logan waited. He rode the horse as she did, holding no expectation for anything.
"Thanks," Logan offered. He had to give her at least that if nothing else. She was kind. She didn't have to do what she was planning, and yet she was. And he couldn't stop her even if he wanted to.
