It would have been wrong to say that Eddie hadn't been trying to coax the Spider out of hiding. He had seen the youth at work, the office did have a quaint way of bringing them together more often than not but Eddie couldn't do anything to Parker there in the bullpen. Not this time. Parker had ruined him once, and Eddie Brock was not going to let that happen again. He would be sportsmanlike at the office.
But the empty streets weren't the office. There was privacy in the shadows, a certain comfort felt by the darkness.
A scream came from the alleyway and Eddie swung across the rooftops toward it. His tounge lolled out from a large maw of razor sharp teeth, snake-like, tasting the fear in the air. "Yummy..." He snarled, leaping on to a rooftop.
Landing easily, a black and white mass of rippling muscle, the creature was gone like a shadow over the edge of the roof and made it down in to the alley in no time flat. A smirk, and Venom landed on its clawed feet. A lunge, and the black mass had pounced eagerly on to a man whom had been attacking a woman in the dark, unlit strip of concrete and puddled water.
"Tsk tsk, that is no way to treat someone that looks so tasty. Come to think of it," Venom said, "You look tasty, too." He chomped at the air, frightening away both the man and the woman. A laugh, and the hulking mass considered the night that lay empty before himself.
