"Really?" Selina breathed in awe, an appropriate response to Ben's tale about the village ducks. She usually wasn't so girly about such things, beyond cats and kittens, but she knew that seeing the world in different ways was something everyone should do. Especially in a place as accommodating as this one.
The duckling emitted a quack of delight, waddling easily toward the outstretched hand. It settled in Ben's palm, content and satisfied.
