Eric was both glad and unhappy for Ariel. He had been avoiding the girl on purpose, knowing she would want to be friendly toward him and he couldn't bring himself to be in her presence knowing that he had been the cause of all of this in the first place while they had been speaking. Now, maybe it would be easier to be around her, but he wouldn't forget what had needed to be done. Curse that detailed memory.
"I'm glad she doesn't remember." He truly was. She wouldn't be afraid of Macklyn anymore, which was never what Eric had wanted.
And then their foreheads were touching and Eric bathed in the feelings Macklyn offered. That love and forgiveness flooded him and he breathed a sigh of relief. "I want to work on it too. Whatever it takes." He shared his own love and adoration with his mate, not keeping anything from him. He never had before, why start now? They could get to the experiences these last months had brought later, for now Eric was fine with just being close.
