This was an interesting turn of behavior for Will Graham, and Hannibal found himself intrigued and pulled in by it. It appeared to him that Will believed that they would skirt each other through this world and not have any direct contact. Hannibal was going to do what he could to make that an untrue thought. Nothing so blatant as stalking, but he was sure that he could arrange it so that the two of them might have to see one another, or even work together.
His inner gears turned, once more circling back to the idea of Will Graham and Clarice Starling encountering, spending time together, becoming friends. Dare he even imagine what might happen if the pair were to become lovers? It was fascinating enough that Hannibal believed he could staunch his possessive jealousy over the both of them if he could make it happen.
"I hope that you are able to build a life and find success here, Will." Hannibal smiled, pleasantly. "I will see you."
It was a not-so-subtle threat and promise. Disguised in friendly banter, hidden behind the sorrowful eyes of a permanent farewell. As if he were telling Will that he would leave him alone. Will would likely know the difference, even if an outsider did not.
