John could sense the anxiety had not left her. It was intuition as much as her smell, or study of her body language. He had been a priest more than long enough to see when he wasn't able to really provide help, after all.
But at her admission, he cracked a youthful grin, and chuckled softly.
"I still don't have anything special to practice," he said, shrugging. "I'm willing to try anything, maybe it'll bring out a special perk to my powers I haven't worked out yet. And whatever you bring to the table, it'll probably make me stronger if I have to save you from it. Let's do it."
