He looked down as she put the tab in to her mouth, trying to focus on something other than the way her mouth looked as she accepted the drug. He closed the tin with a gentle click, and pushed the aluminum box in to her jacket pocket.
Without realizing he was doing it until his lungs began to burn, Bruce was holding his breath waiting to see if it took hold.
Her gasp was enough to gain his attention, and hopeful he studied her reaction. A humble smile took him and he marveled at her, "I'm glad you like it." Licking over his lips, Bruce looked at the ground, "I don't know how long it'll last, maybe a day, maybe hours. And eventually you'll get used to it, like any drug, and we will have to up the dosage. But for now..."
It seemed to be working. His brown eyes lifted from the sidewalk and he met her gaze.
