He grinned awkwardly, pushing his glasses up his nose. "My family's got a long history of conservation efforts, so I'm glad you seem to get it. Not everyone does. I was working on a few projects involving migration patterns of some lesser-known swamp species before I got sucked into, um, a dinosaur island and then put here, but it's not a huge inconvenience. I'm actually in charge of the dinosaurs at the City Zoo now." Alex puffed up with pride. "It's basically a dream come true. What about you? How long have you been here, if you don't mind me asking? By the way, I'm Alex. Price." He held out his hand for her to shake.
