Peggy grinned and held a hand up to conceal her mouth as if she were telling a secret, "Actually, I found it on a walk in the park. It doesn't belong to me so its value is unknown. And I would rather someone get some joy from it. Such a trinket can bring a small animal a moment of peace and that's worth it." She lowered her hand and turned her attention back to Crow for a bit.
"The last of his kind? That's sad. He's such a beautiful creature. You would think people would be smart enough to leave well enough alone, but of course that's silly, isn't it? What we cannot control we seem to want to kill."
Peggy sighed and turned back to Alex. "That's sweet. At least you'll always have each other."
