He might have helped her, but it seemed to Aidan that Evey needed to conquer the belt on her own. There was a weird mixture of her going on, she seemed both eager and wary. Ready and cautious. Open and guarded. Then it all gave over to one side suddenly. Like a dam breaking.
Aidan imagined that in the future, this was going to be difficult for her to deal with. Harboring two personalities within herself and warring with what each one wanted. Right now, though, he cared only that she wanted him. Because he wanted her, too.
