In all the strength of Evey, there was a harsh vulnerability that he hadn't known before. He saw it when she looked up at him again, their eyes meeting. Her words echoed the thoughts that he was having, and then transcended them. How could he, even monster that he was, deny the need that he felt radiating off of her?
Aidan loved her, and despite what he'd said earlier about them needing to figure everything out before anything went a step further, he needed to feel her. He needed her mouth on his and her hands on his skin. He needed his fingers in her hair.
Both of his hands moved away from where she'd placed them, coming up to her face to cup it, and not gently. His mouth found hers, not tentatively. Aidan felt the thrill of the kiss through his whole body.
He also felt the blackness of his own eyes and the sudden fangs, but didn't stop.
