She sat quietly - almost primly - beside him. Aidan was absolutely right. There was no telling what John would say to such a suggestion. She didn't think that sharing her fit into their vision of a precise and orderly world. It was an extra piece, an unexpected factor... Evey wasn't even sure how she felt about it.
But the alternative was giving one of them up. The thought turned her stomach into acid. She shut her eyes and breathed the clean, fresh park into her lungs. And when she opened her eyes again, it was while she stood. With a decisive move, she turned and took his hand again. There were no explanations. She was so used to moving without explaining herself, and taking whoever was with her along for the ride.
