"I know parts of you." He admitted that he didn't know her. This new amalgam of Eveys. They were together a different person than they had been apart. He didn't know the version of her that had lived without him for a year very well at all. She had changed, hardened. But he did know the other part of her very well. In his mind, it evened it out most of the way. Gave him a good base to work off of, anyway. "And this gives me a chance to get to know you all over again."
So maybe it was cheesy.
"Why wouldn't I love what you've become, when you're made up of the person that I've already loved for so long?" Aidan leaned forward, closer to her. It was hard to think about her with Preston, but he couldn't make her choose. He wasn't the type to hand out ultimatums, because they never went well. Especially not in situations like this. "If what you want, what you need, is for both of us to love you, then I'm willing to try. I will do my best to keep my jealousy out of the way, as long as you do your best to understand what it's like on my end."
If the choice was share her or lose her, Aidan knew what he needed to do.
"But you have to talk to Preston about it first. Before any decision is made. Before we discuss this any further. And then..." He made a bit of a face. "And then I think we all need to sit down together."
