He'd been staunchly refusing to leave the house, and for what he believed was very good reason. Being out there was tempting in so many ways. But the look on Evey's face was one he could not deny. She didn't want to be here. Why would she? She'd seen him near his absolute worst not ten feet away from where they stood now. The bathroom he'd used had been the one where he'd kept his disgusting stash. Everywhere she looked there would be memories of that awful night.
Aidan sighed. "Alright."
He was about to stand up and fetch his shoes when his eyes caught that they were right by her feet on the floor by the couch. She really really didn't want to be here. Aidan reached around Evey and grabbed the boots, pulling them toward himself and getting them on as fast as he could. He felt really bad that she'd had to come back here at all.
Once the shoes were on, he led the way to the door so that she didn't have to sit on the couch a moment longer.
