At the statement about Clarice's father, Barbara brightened. She felt like Clarice, in a way, was an older, prettier version of herself and strangely she was comforted by that. At least that symbolized to Barbara that she could make it and keep doing great things.
Her grin widened and her own back straightened a touch, "I actually have a degree in forensic psychology, so this really wasn't what I was meant to be doing either. But it seemed to need the most help and so I figured it couldn't be too hard to do. I guess that's how life works, huh? Picking up the sticks someone else throws down and making a new structure out of them." She was very glad to have met Clarice.
