The apology wasn't necessary. He changed due to the known precaution. Honestly, Bruce didn't think she could hurt or change him, his biological makeup was radioactive. He never got sick, never had food poisoning...his cells combatted foreign bodies instantly with the overwhelming levels of radiation. Not many things could withstand large doses of gamma rays. Viruses and bacteria were no exception.
There was a sense of awkwardness that settled between them, but it wasn't any fault of either of theirs. He shifted a little closer to her in case she burst out into tears again (he didn't know if he was ready for another ride on that rollercoaster but he would be there if she needed him) and pushed the play button on the remote.
It wasn't long in to the movie when the pizza came. Bruce left it playing for Liv, paid the delivery boy way more than a pizza should ever cost anyone in their natural life (a habit picked up from Tony) and closed the door once the transaction was done. Instead of plates, Bruce set the pizza box on the coffee table to eat out of. A last stop to the kitchen for that super hot sauce Liv liked, and finally he resumed his spot on the couch next to her. He held up the sauce, "Here. I was going to bring you this anyway before I left the apartment, so I guess I'll give it to you now."
The box was opened and the pizza steamed up at them. Bruce smiled, "I hope this is okay, I figured between the sauce, sausage and jalapeƱos there would be enough of a kick."
