It wasn't Vertigo but Liv didn't need to be reminded of Peyton or Major. The Birds was Vertigo adjacent and just the sort of mindless entertainment she needed. Liv had watched it enough times that she could tune out the horror of the bird attacks and appreciate the TV blaring and the promise of pizza.
When she noticed Bruce had changed his shirt, she mumbled an apology before sitting on the couch next to him. What she wanted was stupid. He had already hugged her and they still didn't know each other well, but that didn't change the fact that she wanted to lean against him and feel his arm around her shoulders again.
She didn't even know exactly how Dr. Banner felt about her. Liv still called him Dr. Banner, like a professor or mentor. In way he was that, too. He had a closer idea of knowing what it was life more than anyone else.
Liv took one of the throw pillows on the couch and hugged it to her chest instead. She wasn't better, Liv wasn't anywhere near good, but for a few moments she thought that maybe with a enough time, she might be able to get to okay.
