Eric looked at her, "I didn't know you were here, last time I felt your presence you were sacrificing yourself for the greater good of humanity. There was a version of you where I was, but it wasn't you." It was all the explanation he could give to her. That version had been here, as well. And his other version had been with that one. They had built some semblance of a life together, one he was currently residing within.
He chuckled and smiled as she squeezed his arm, "It hasn't always been that easy, but it is now. And you can take full advantage of it if you want, to make up for lost time." He meant that. His nights were filled with emptiness now, and filling them with Lee was like a dream.
There was nothing that would move him. If she demanded him be there all night and all day, he would sit. Anything she wanted he would give. "Tell me about you? And Peter. I haven't seen him much lately, how is my friend?" Peter had come after the double had died, they had gone to breakfast and talked, but he had not seen his friend sonde then. Lee would be the source of the clarification.
