Eddie's grin widened just a touch at Tony's words, "I can't recall, Tony, the last time either myself or my daughter were in your line of sight, much less the forefront of your mind. Why, we've been keeping to ourselves." Then his smile faded again, "And, for your current peace of mind Effie will never bother you or anyone else again. She's gone, you see, dead. Crushed by the Hulk, actually. Poetic justice?"
He fished a card out of the inside pocket of his coat, maneuvering around Tony's holding him by the shirt and all, holding it up. It was a business card to Nelson & Murdock, Attorney's at law. "If you need confirmation you can consult my lawyer, Matthew Murdock. He was there with me for the Identification and if you need further proof, you can check the orchard beyond the stables of Arkham. She's buried just there. Or ask Harleen, she's the head Doctor at the Asylum now...now that Jonathan is gone."
His shoulders slumped some.
Then his eyes slithered to the suit that held the girl and Edward chuckled, "The feeling is mutual, darling. I regret not being a better aim when I had you in my range of sight. But life is funny that way, isn't it?"
