Melody nodded, feeling much better. The high of the death was running through her, the wound on her leg healed, and she was elated by everything she'd learned about herself today.
She could stop a bullet.
Kinetic energy was her bitch.
The smile on her face was plastered there, and not likely to drop any time soon. Now that she knew she wouldn't be hurt by bullets anymore, Mel felt safe telling Pam about her trials. Plus with the death of the woman doing its part to heal her, Pam would only smell the residual blood.
"Thanks, Logan. I mean it. Thank you."
She looked at the corpse and had no idea what was going to happen to the woman, and found she didn't care in the least. She'd served her purpose. Mel wanted nothing more to do with her. So she raised a hand in farewell and made her way back through the trees to civilization.
