Logan watched Melody analyze the distance appropriate. He would never have fired at her at close range, not as unsure as she was about her abilities. That might come later once she became more confident and had better control. The scope of her power was so vast, being able to help her narrow it down was a joy that Logan didn't get lately. Teaching was one of the variety of things he was good at, when he wasn't at the last threads of his patience anyway.
He pulled the gun out of a pocket once Melody nodded, and he held the thing up. Aiming, Logan looked at her down the sight. Should he count? Give her warning? He didn't want to spook her or dissolve her adrenaline. He could already hear her heart.
No. Warning didn't seem right to the situation. Not to Melody, anyway.
"Might wanna cover yer ears," Logan mumbled to the patient, whom cooperated.
Once the girl had covered her ears, Logan furrowed his brow and he fired the first shot.
