Pepper nodded her head, thankful for Jarvis' update on Tony's current state of health. Her fingers continued to run their way back through his hair, trying to soothe him with that one tender comfort of mere physical contact.
She gave him a playful smile, arching a brow in a little quirk. "Kill you? And miss the chance to see you suffer? You've got to be kidding me."
Standing up then, she touched the sides of his cheek once more with the back of her hand, assessing the feverish heat there. He could tell by the look in her eyes that she was taking a mental assessment of everything she was going to require, that gaze the same sort of one she would get when about to rush head-long into some new project.
"Alright," she breathed after a moment, giving a little nod of her head. "You just stay here. I'm going to go get a few things and then I'll be right back, okay? You'll be just fine. I promise - we'll get you better."
Then, with a last lingering touch against his hair, she slipped off the bed once more and made her way out of the room to collect a few supplies that she was going to need.
Somehow, in that one particular moment, everything about the past fourty-eight hours was completely forgotten. The entire situation with Cameron...their break-down and confrontation yesterday at her home. It all took a waiting place on the back burner of her thoughts. Though she'd been upset with him yesterday, right now was not the time to let those personal emotions effect her. Right now she had a man that she claimed to love suffering in the throes of a violent illness. She couldn't just let him go through that alone when she could offer him come measure of comfort.
Besides...taking care of Tony Stark was what pepper did best.
