Aidan nodded at the reminder of the card. It would be good to have, he thought. Just in case. And he couldn't deny that the idea of getting himself locked up to keep the harm away from others was a little appealing. He didn't know what cops would do with a vampire, but it wasn't like he was the sort that needed to stay out of the sun or feed on humans. Sure, he'd start to starve if he tried to play himself off as a junkie for the whole time and didn't get any kind of blood in him. But maybe they wouldn't hold him for more than a couple of weeks.
"Thanks." He said again. He really did mean it.
He appreciated the cop stopping at all in the first place, he appreciated the gestures with the snacks, and he appreciated the conversation. The whole encounter had been very un-cop-like. Aidan thought that if more of the police had been like this guy, there might be less distrust about law enforcement in the first place.
As an outward show of this appreciation, Aidan picked up the open seed bag and poured some into his hand. He then threw that handful into his mouth and chewed them up while he stared at the water.
