She didn't know how to answer the question. She didn't feel like she was herself. Her very body felt strange - too hard, too slim, too powerful, and yet, exactly as she expected it to be. Even her hair felt wrong - though that was something that only the person who lived in her skin would know. Who was she, then? Why was this not her body and hers all at the same time? She gave Peter a wan smile.
"I am alive."
That was something. She wondered just what happened to the rounder body she'd been in. She looked down at her hands. Her fingers were almost skeletal. How had this happened to her? No, no, the right question was, Why did her fingers look like they were too thin? She dropped her hands.
