And that he had been able to do something to help. Even if Aidan had been the catalyst, Peter was grateful to have been able to help her now.
As the door shut, he turned, eyes slipping closed. She had asked, and there was nothing Peter could deny Evey Hammond. So, it was to Aidan he turned his mind, gently muting his connections to Evey. She was asking his help because she couldn't be there herself, and so he wouldn't have her there vicariously.
