Peter wrapped his arms around her. He had felt her swirl of emotions and teleported once she had started to break down, so now he was here to help comfort her. It wasn't often that her emotional walls failed, but they had shattered not long ago, and she hadn't quite recovered yet.
This might have pushed her over the edge all on it's own. But there was strength in Evey, an undercurrent of steel and determination. She had survived so much. So very much. It broke his heart to know what she had suffered - or would have, if she had not been the woman she was. His heart couldn't break, not when she had so much strength to bear.
He could reflect some of that now.
His concern and love flowed over them both. He said nothing, simply provided his presence and his support. He could be her strength, as she had been his so many times. He knew what she was feeling. There was no need to speak.
