Bruce ran a hand through his hair in a rare gesture unlike him. He seemed - discomfited. So rarely, that sort of emotion showed through. But she was giving him that look that said she was unhappy but still forgave him - regardless of the arch comment she threw his way. He smiled uneasily.
"You deserve much better than me," he said. To his mind, Selina deserved everything he could give her and then some. The thing with Selina was that she didn't really want what he could give her. It was always about the chase with her - always about the rush of adrenaline, the challenge, the forbidden.

The box in his pocket felt very heavy, as he waited for Selina to order, then ordered himself a spring water and a spinach salad.
