Her eyes grew round and grateful. She turned a warm smile up at him. His skin was reflecting some of the glow of the sun and she loved how his eyes looked in the fire of the dying day.
"Thank you," she said, glad to hear that he would make time for her regardless of what he was doing. It was a very generous thing to say, and only made her want to stay close to him. She twined her slender arm around his far more powerful one and rested her hand on the back of his.
"What things are prettier than a sunset?" she asked him, able to think of a few herself, but wanting to hear his own perspective.
