There were so many things to see in this new City that she could almost forget how lonely it was without someone to share all those new experiences. She'd always been alone before - well, perhaps that wasn't true. Pippin and her woodland friends were never very far away at all, and they often shared the cozy home in her hollow tree in Andalasia. But here, in this City, she couldn't understand Pip very well, though he tried very hard to talk with her still. And the animals here didn't really talk at all - though they still understood her just as well as they always had. These differences made her feel very alone.
Sometimes, Logan was around, and those were the best times. She really enjoyed his company. He was gruff, but he was also kind. He never let her go without, and if there were something she mentioned in passing that she wanted, it appeared for her later - though he never seemed to take the gratitude she gave him very well at all.
Even still, he was a marvelous man, and she was very excited about the night ahead. After the sparrows had tied a blue sash around her waist and pinned up her hair in ribbons that matched, she checked her appearance in the mirror, smoothed a feather off her shoulder, and beamed. She was ready!
"What is?" she asked, as she heard Logan musing over his paper. Her hands came to his shoulders as he sat, and she leaned over to read what he'd just set down.
