A mixture of smells lingered in the living area. It wasn't so much the enticing aromas of the candles more than it was the combination of the new creatures that added their own unique scents to the home. He could smell the kitten, as small as it was, and the newest addition of the black bird. Was this what a home smelled like? He supposed it was.
As his mate appeared in the threshold of the bedroom, Eric glanced up at him. "I brought some stuff for the kitten," he began, motioning to the bags full of things. Probably more than small kitten would ever really need for itself. But Eric didn't know what it would like so a little of everything was what he had gotten.
But the kitten, again, was the least of his concerns.
Eric swept toward where his mate was standing. He closed the distance quickly, easy, and once Macklyn was before him Eric paused and lifted his hands up. He cupped Macklyn's face in his palms and connected their lips together in a hard kiss. All of the love he could muster he gave, and the touch itself was interlaced with need and acceptance. Eric couldnt judge Macklyn for acting the way he had. Eric hadn't been happy about the reaction, but the thought behind it spawned the acceptance. It had taken three days, and while it still was sinking in Eric knew he couldn't push Macklyn away. He needed him.
