Macklyn had given the bird much more blood than he'd intended to, way more than it needed in order to heal from the wound he had caused. What he'd given it was the equivalent of giving a human a full vampire worth of blood when they were being turned.
He pulled his arm away and licked the wound to heal it faster, then pulled the bird into his arms while it finished healing. He had no idea what was going to happen to it, but it already felt different than Bran had.
The fairy moved to where his mate sat, wanting to hold and comfort, knowing that perhaps was not the right time. Instead, he showed him the bird, showing that he had stopped the second unnecessary death from happening.
His eyes sought out Bran, wondering if the one connected to them both on a different level would have more insight on what was happening with the phantom's bird.
