It was strange, to see them both together, in the same place. And unsettling. It felt unnatural to Macklyn, which was saying something, given all that he was and had seen over his lifetime. The pair should not be able to exist in the same place at the same time, even if they were two wholly different creatures.
Perhaps that's what unsettled him the most. Something would resolve itself and they couldn't know how it would work or what would happen.
He looked at the birds, knowing which one was his only because of the connection he felt. He imagined his old plan once more. Before he'd met this other Eric, he'd planned to harm the bird to kill the man, but he was then going to bring the bird into their trio and make it a foursome. It had been a cruel plan, to be sure.
The fairy turned his gaze back to the men who were at once both the man he loved and also not.
"I'm not quite sure what to say here, but I know that it is important that something be said. You aren't of us, Eric, and yet you are. Connected in the same way that I was connected to my Eric when I first met him. He is my soulmate, my destiny, which means that strangely you are as well." His tone was proper, made even more so by the British-esque accent. "The question is, what to do about all of this."
