Thankful for the contact and the forgiveness, Macklyn embraced Eric tightly. He had not wanted to hurt his mate, hated himself for doing so. He hoped that Eric realized that. They were connected in many ways, emotions were broadcast unless somebody did a great deal of work to hide them. Macklyn was much more adept at these things, though in this moment he was hiding nothing.
"I should have. I know that I should have. I was arrogant and thought that somehow it was going to work better than it did." He shook his head, burying is face in Eric's hair for a moment. "Can I chalk it up to being a spoiled fairy prince?"
He hoped the joke helped to ease the tension even more than the contact was.
