Bran flew with her, and she threw the dark wings a bright smile every so often. She thought that having Bran with her meant that Eric knew she was here, and was not worried for her safety. In fact, Bran's presence seemed to encourage her in her games, or at least, that was the effect of him being there.
She also appreciated that Eric hadn't joined her, himself, but trusted that she was all right. The presence of Bran was also a silent promise that Eric would be there if she needed him. After the nearly dozen foes she'd disarmed, however, she thought that he might understand in a way that only facts could bring understanding that she was all right on her own.
But, as she climbed a low chimney and stood with feet on either side of the opening, fists on her hips, she found that she wanted him with her all the same. Dashing a sweat-damp twist of hair from her eyes, she finally called to him. She also trusted in him to hear her - wherever he was.
