Her mouth dropped open when he said that last bit, and when he gave her what could only be termed as a guileless look, Rose burst out into laughter. Beaten at her own game! Oh, he was good!
"Show me this rustic diner of yours," she said, still laughing, "Before I fall over from starvation!"
It didn't take long to leave the building after that, and Rose was glad to see that Matt's smile stayed with him. The sky had turned purple and navy by the time they made it out, though. Rose was all right with that; it meant that she had an excuse to hold onto his hand - not that she ever really needed an excuse. She loved holding his hand, and tried to do it as often as she could - but especially when they walked together. The City was good for walking, too.
